I'd say "do what feels right" but the structure does help. But you will need transition time, so if the 1 - 2 - 4 minutes are back to back people won't have enough time to group / regroup. With virtual meetings and using breakout rooms etc I tend to dd a minute or so per round for transition times.
Hello all,
last year when I came across this site I wrote a small timer tool to help me understand the 1-2-4-All flow. Recently I participated in a session where part of it was run 1-2-4-All style and it made me question the timings.
My timer starts at 1 minute, then 2 minutes, then 4 minutes, then repeating 5 minutes. Does that fit with how people actually use the format?
The session I was in had longer timings. So I wondered if those timings are "per person". I.e. 1 minute, then 2x2mins, then 4X4mins, then 5 mins repeating?
I appreciate the answer might be "do what feels right", but wanted to ask the question of those who know it better than I. :-)
